Who invented the world’s first hydroelectric power plant? Who invented x-rays? Who invented the neon lights? If you search on the internet, the true inventor’s name will never come out. Who is it then? It’s Nikola Tesla, a DETERMINED GENIUS! He invented all of these things, and many more useful things! Still, because Tesla has disagreements with Edison, a famous inventor, and people believe that famous people are always right, Tesla was brought no fame, but he deserved slightly more.

Nikola Tesla was born on July 10, 1856 in Croatia. He’s mother was an inventor and his father was a priest. His father wanted him to also become a priest! Fortunately, he’s FAR MORE passionate in studying science than becoming a priest, so he went on his own way. He studied science at the university of Prague then started working for the central telephone exchange. He must’ve studied well.

As the age of 28, he decided to go to America to make inventions. He started to work with the famous American designer, Thomas Edison. A disagreement occurred while they work together. Edison’s direct current lamps were supplied with direct current. That makes them WEAK AND INEFFICIENT. But Tesla’s alternating current can travel long distances and go in multiple directions, which makes them EFFICIENT. Tesla really has a better invention.

He finally got enough of the arguments and left Edison to work himself. He made a light company but because of some financial trouble, he had to walk out of the partnership between Westinghouse, an engineer who worked with Tesla. A year later, Tesla created the world’s first hydroelectric power plant. He then invented a wireless broadcasting system and constructed it. But due to some unfortunate reasons his partner, J.P. Morgan cut funding and the tower was sold off. He was NEVER lucky.

During the time period of disorder, his researches got stolen by his contemporary scientists, and the scientists said that THEY researched all of these! Tesla decided to sue Marconi, who was alleged to pass off his researches, but it was too late! Things got really bad.

But why did I say he’s strong-minded? Well, because some people will often get furious when they lost their jobs, or when they, due to some unexpected reasons, went late at some very major shows or speech. Right? These things might not even make Tesla’s mood change! However, there’s something much more serious that happened to him. The god of fortunate never worked at his side. When he built a cautiously designed rocket. After assembled, he almost checked EVERY SCREW and there’s no problem found. Just then as the rocket was launched: it EXPLODED! As everyone’s complaining, Tesla quickly get over his temporary stage and looked for errors instead. He’s pretty good at facing setbacks.

He’s such a genius, though he was never given the right credits he truly deserved. He had over 800 patents to his name. It’s a shame a determined man that can speak 8 languages and with a super duper great able-to-recite brain died a PAUPER in a lonely hotel room. He also went through from a life of hopelessness and he was extremely fond of his beloved pigeon. He’s my idol and I wanted to become a person like him, someday, if I have the ability to do that.
